Training Visa (Subclass 407)
The Subclass 407 Training Visa in Australia is a temporary visa designed for individuals seeking short-term stays to engage in occupational training, professional development, or skill enhancement. The primary purposes of this visa include meeting occupational registration or licensing requirements, refining skills in a specific occupation, or contributing to capacity building overseas.
The Subclass 407 Training Visa typically allows a stay in Australia for a duration of 2 years. However, it is important to note that the visa is subject to condition 8102, which restricts work activities other than the specified training outlined in the visa application. Additionally, maintaining health insurance during the stay in Australia is a requirement. The application process is conducted online, and applicants have the flexibility to lodge it whether they are in Australia or overseas. Furthermore, family members, including spouses and children, can be included in the visa application.

- Up to 6 months of practical experience, research, or observation required to obtain an overseas qualification.
- Training supported by a government agency or the applicant’s home government.
Occupational training typically mandates at least 70% of the training to be on-the-job versus classroom training.
