Subsequent entrant 485 visa
If you have already applied for a 485 visa and did not include family, then you still have the option to include family members with a subsequent entrant visa Here are the key points regarding family members and the 485 subsequent entrant visa application:
- Inclusion of Family Members:
- You have the option to include members of your family unit in your 485 visa application, if they are also with you in Australia when you apply.
- You have the option to include members of your family after you have been granted the 485 Visa. This is known as a subsequent entrant visa application for family members.
- Family members included in the application must also meet the health and character requirements set by the Department of Home Affairs.
- Subsequent Entrant Application:
- After your 485 visa is granted, your family members who were not included in the initial application can apply to join you in Australia as subsequent entrants.
- The cost for adding subsequent family members (such as your partner), after the primary applicant had already being granted their 485 visa is AUD $2,300.
- The cost for adding an applicant who is at least 18 is AUD $1 150 and for an applicant under 18 is AUD $580.
- The subsequent entrant applicant will be granted the 485 visa with the same expiry date as the primary 485 visa holder.
By including your family members in your 485 visa application through subsequent entrant applications, you can ensure that your family can accompany you during your stay in Australia.
